About Me

Hi! I am James!

Hi, welcome to my personal website!

I don’t know if you came here by recommendation, links, or simply Google-ed your way here, and it doesn’t matter if I know you in person or not – You’re in my website, you’re my guest, and you’re absolutely welcome!

My name is James Chow.

I’m not a celebrity blogger with fancy studio photos and 5-digit daily visitors; I’m not a kick-ass political or analytical blogger who discusses and predicts the nation’s rise and fall; I’m not a super commercial blogger with more ads than entries;

I’m James Chow, and

This is James-Chow.com, so it’s all about nothing but… James Chow!… and the stuff around me!

I’m 20 this year and my birthday is on January 25th. This means I’m a cross-breed between the dragon and the rabbit, according to the Chinese zodiac. I was born in the year of the dragon, but my birthday occurs before Chinese New Year. So, strictly speaking, I’m a bunny instead of a dragon!

Bunny!

I’m the youngest in my family, and I have a brother who’s studying Medicine in University Malaya. (Won’t reveal his name here unless he agrees!)

My home town is the warm, memorable, harmonious mountain city of Ipoh. I currently reside in Cyberjaya, the so-called ‘Silicon Valley of Malaysia’, for my studies.

I enjoy mild sports, music, trading, shopping (yes, shopping!), and travelling. I also like to try new things and get new experiences, I believe that experience, not academics, is going to be more useful in my life.

I’m currently studying in Multimedia University (MMU), Cyberjaya. My field of study is Electronics Engineering, majoring in Telecommunications.

I noticed that many stupid I mean less-informed people think that engineers are geeks that you call when your washing machine breaks down. Are you one of them?

Multimedia University!

I’m not exactly, or remotely close to becoming, one of the best students in campus (You know what I mean!), sometimes I wonder why on earth I took up an Engineering course in the first place… Trigonometry, calculus, miles-long formulae – they’re practically everything I hated during secondary school! But, oh well…

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Engineering is not good or anything. Engineering is probably the most important driving forces in the continued development of human civilisation. But such sophisticated knowledge requires extraordinary brainpower and preseverence, which I, unfortunately, lack.

Anyway, I really like to talk, I have the uncanny ability to talk and talk – indefinitely. But whenever I talk a lot, it always gets me into trouble… way too many times. That’s why I’m currently restraining myself to talk less, and listen more.

Blah Blah...

Anyway, back to the site! :)

If this is your first day of visiting this site, then it sure is a happy day for you and me! I get the chance to know a special person – You! Please fill in the guestbook, consider leaving some comments in my posts, and contact me if you need anything!

James-Chow.com was registered and had its existance marked on the internet on June 21st, 2006. I blundered an exhausting 6 months’ time (almost!) to build up the first version of the website before I posted my first entry (primarily due to my poor and inefficient technical skills) =(

Starting June 4th, 2007, you may access this website through the URL www.james.com.my, and after February 4th, 2008www.james.my. Of course, www.James-Chow.com will remain as my main address and you may choose to access with either one of the three!

I created James-Chow.com with the purpose of having my own private chunk of space on the internet, a place where I can rave about anything I want, record precious memories and experiences in my life, as well as to have a place to communicate and interact with my friends!

If you’re new here, I sincerely welcome you into this private little realm of mine and hope that you’ll stay, if you wish! =)

Hi there! Welcome!

I’m neither a professional website designer nor a programming specialist. In fact, I haven’t got any formal education in website design or HTML programming before. The small amount of knowledge that I have in this area is mainly the humble result of countless hours of self-learning plus trial and error.

That’s why you’ll probably find a couple of bugs or unprofessional designs here and there in this website. Please tolerate them and if you’d like to help me, contact me and let me know, I’d be extremely thankful!

I guess that’s quite enough about myself, I’ll stop here. =)

Feel free to wander around and explore my humble website! I’ve got some tools to show you around if you need them:

For directional help, there’s the site index ready for you. If you’re looking for a specific post, the search bar might be able to help. For RSS feeds, I’ve got the link here. And if you need further help, you can always contact me!

Welcome to James-Chow.com!

That’s it. Thanks for stopping by, and welcome to James-Chow.com again!
