First, the house’s staircase became a waterfall.

Flood in my house...

Then, the house – despite its terrible piping and electric problems (one of the rooms have not had any electricity at its sockets) – was raised by RM300 in monthly rental.

And NOW, our horrible agent, the one who uttered the infamous sentence:

… so, I guess you all are just… err… unlucky lor…

is refusing to refund a RM300 deposit to a friend who had paid it for the agent to find a new house, and she had promised that the deposit would be refundable if she couldn’t find a house for him…

Townhouses in Cyberia

… which she did, actually – yeah, she found a ridiculous RM1,900/month house, which was

small in size,

awful location,

terrible environment, and

ludicrous architecture!

… one of the ‘rooms‘ actually had to – and could only – be entered by getting out to the rear lawn and entering from its door placed there (there’s no door into that room from inside the house)!

I didn’t see the room myself, but from what my friends described to me, I Imagined it to be like some garden shed!

Garden Shed...

A BEDROOM that could only be entered from the back garden! A house like that, you stay lor…! :-( :-(

We’ve decided that we had had enough – we’re not gonna stay in Cyberjaya anymore.

OK, to be fair - Cyberjaya is a great, hi-tech, peaceful place, and its housing areas are very nice

… all except those around the university! Despicable landlords and agents monopolizing the student’s market and capitalizing on the helpless students’ desperation of finding a place to stay near campus…

Staying near campus comes with a price...

… teamed with terrible food choice and quality, shameless groceries price mark-ups, disgusting service attitudes… That’s my opinion on Cyberia – the place where many other MMU students and I are now staying at.

RAWR!

I’m gonna stop criticizing… :-D

A few friends and I went to Seri Kembangan yesterday to look for a house. It’s already May and it’s quite late to look for a house, but we had no choice, we needed to! :-(

We went around this area called Bandar Putra Permai and simply called up whichever telephone number being displayed on the ‘for sale/to let‘ signs on houses…

Bandar Putra Permai...

Of course, there were some that we didn’t want to call – like this house that has a fully-grown TREE near the front door:

Tall tree in front of house!

… or this one – with a perfectly preserved wildlife habitat in your garden…

Maybe can find snakes...

The rental fees for houses around here are typically RM500-RM700 for single storey houses, and RM600-RM900 for double storey ones.

Very cheap leh! Compared to the RM1,300-RM1,800 range for townhouses in Cyberia!

And the sizes are almost the same! Here we have better food, more places to buy stuff, and much friendlier agents!

We even found that with RM1,500 – the rental price for our current Cyberia house starting next month, we can rent a semi-D with a super, incredibly HUGE lawn, in Seri Kembangan!

With our rental now we can get a Semi-D!

Can even play football in the garden!

Take a look at the garden...

Yesterday, although we didn’t really intend to get this house, we arranged with the owner to take a look in the house the next day, but the owner called us today, last-minute, and told us that she had decided to sell the house – not renting.

Finally, we settled with this house:

Our future house!

The outside looks kinda messy because it is a new house and it hasn’t been occupied for years – so I think after the landlord clears up the mess outside a bit – it should be very nice! :-P

20-minute drive to MMU, I think this place is quite ideal!

I’m going back to Ipoh tomorrow, coming back on Tuesday or Thursday…
