If charging RM1.80 for a glass of Milo is outrageous and can be fined RM22,500 with the shop’s signboard torn down in Malaysia, then I think vendors in Redang Island are in deep risk!

Not to mention that the mamak stall in Cyberjaya IS currently selling Milo at RM1.80 per glass, why didn’t anyone sue them?

Yes, I know… Costs of goods are different in various locations… Right? But what about RM40 for a ‘claypot seafood‘? Or RM8 for a Mi Goreng?

Here’s the price display that everyone saw at a restaurant in Redang Island.

RM8 for a fried anchory, no, should be anchovy… And singular?! RM8 for ONE cute little 4cm-long fish?! Don’t scare the tourists ler, change the word to anchovies! =)

But still, RM8 for a bowl of ikan bilis goreng is a bit too much la…

Look at the cheapest item in the list – French Fried! Literally: ‘Orang Perancis digoreng‘! – RM5!

OMG cannibalism! No wonder we didn’t see a lot of Europeans here in Redang Island! All kena fried already!

Like any other tourist attraction, normal items in Redang are also sold at at least 150% of normal prices.

For example: A bottle of 1.5L mineral water is sold at RM3. And those’re the ones that are kept on the shelf (room temperature). If you want refrigerated ones (a nice, cool drink under Redang’s hot sun), the price of the same bottle of mineral water shoots up to RM3.80!

How can…? That’s kinda like taking advantage of the poor thirsty tourists under the scorching sun…! Since when tourist attractions have the license to monopolise the prices and set high mark-ups like nobody’s business…? =(

Anyway, I must admit that high as the prices are, they are nothing compared to Genting’s RM10 wantan noodles… Haha!
